Harrow, the safest area for cars and drivers

Harrow's roads are 21 times safer than the streets from the City of London, according to the Department for Transport

According to statistics from the spring of 2013, Harrow's casualty rate is 17.99 per 10.000 residents, compared with 371.82 per 10.000 residents, in the City of London.

Harrow's figures are much better than not only compared with the City, but also with many other rural or suburban areas. Philip O'Dell, the councilor responsible for community safety in Harrow, quoted by Daily Telegraph, insist that the statistics were improved by the initiatives promoted by the Council, like visits of a road safety team at least once a year, in every school from Harrow.

This is even more impressing if we study the Harrow traffic profile for 2000 to 2012, reported by the Department of Transport. You can see bellow the evolution of the total traffic on major roads from Harrow, for the last twelve years, in thousand vehicle miles.
