Simple Rules to Avoid Car Accidents

There a two simple, but very important things that any driver can do to avoid any type of car accident:

1.    Look as far ahead as possible. So, it is more likely to see potentially dangerous situations.

2.    Stay about three seconds behind the car in front of you, regardless of speed. So, you have enough time to react at any dangerous situation.

If you change suddenly the direction to avoid a vehicle, an animal from the road or any other object, it may result a collision with another car or even overturning. To avoid these situations, you have to turn first the wheel, and then to press on the brake. So, you will reduce the possibility of a rollover.

If the car leaves the carriageway, the natural reaction is to turn back suddenly, trying to go back on the road as quickly as possible. But this can be dangerous. Instead, you can turn the wheel so that the car moves ahead and gradually slow down. Once you have stopped safely, you can go back on the road.

Another frightening experience is the explosion of a tire. The sudden loss of tire pressure makes it very difficult to maintain car control. You have to gradually reduce speed and keep the car in the direction of travel as much of possible. Once the car is moving slowly, try to get close to the road to stop safely.
