British Drivers in Formula 1 – Season 2014


In this season, there will be three British drivers in Formula 1: Jenson Button (McLaren), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Max Chilton (Marussia). 

Born on 19 January 1980, Jenson Button, MBE was the 2009 Formula One World Champion, driving for Brawn GP.
He made his Formula One debut in 2000, at the age of 20, making him the youngest British driver to compete in Formula 1. His teams were: Williams (2000), Benetton (2001), Renault (2002), BAR (2003-2005), Honda (2006-2008), Brawn GP (2009) and McLaren (2010-present).
Born on 7 January 1985, Lewis Hamilton, is currently racing for the Mercedes AMG team. He is the 2008 Formula One World Champion. In his first season in Formula One, he set numerous records, while finishing second in the 2007 Formula One Championship, just one point behind Kimi Räikkönen. He won the World Championship the following season. His teams were: McLaren (2007-2012) and Mercedes (2013-present). 
Born on 21 April 1991 in Reigate, Surrey, Max Chilton made his Formula One debut in 2013, racing for the Marussia F1 Team. His brother Tom is also a racing driver, currently competing in the World Touring Car Championship. On 11 January it was announced that Marussia F1 would be retaining Chilton for the 2014 season.
